The Magnificence of Arabian Horses
At Jalyla Arabians
"To accomplish great things we must not only act, but also dream, not only plan, but also believe."
The name ‘AL JALYLA’ was taken from the Arabic words meaning,
'The Great or Magnificent'.
Pronounced Ja-Lee-La, our identity has the personal touch, whereby each letter within the name reflects the names of its founders. Especially the first two letters; Ja,
symbolise the very start of everything... The heart of our home and farm, our dear mum Janina.
Formerly known as Mystique Arabians pre 2014, we felt it was time for a change in identity, to give a more relevant picture of our current day farm. With a colourful aray of plans, dreams and most of all belief in the success of our future, we aim to achieve true magnificence in everything we do.
Al Jalyla is a dedicated family run farm, founded in 2003, with the ambition in mind to breed exquisite Arabian horses, with the hope that they will grow on to become future ambassadors for the breed.
Our Arabian stud is situated in a tranquil location near Lancashire’s Fylde coast, overlooked by the beautiful fells of the Trough of Bowland. We are blessed with purpose built facilities for the everyday running of an Arabian Stud farm, which we have improved and built upon over the last fifteen years.
Our facilities include an attractive black and white themed row of breeze block stables, including two foaling boxes with additional young stock stables. For the exercise and training of the stud’s residents our large sand school, round pen and six grass paddocks give much choice and variety to their daily regime. Our idyllic country cottages are situated just behind the stable yard with an adjoining garden area and the scenic pond adds to the peaceful atmosphere, which is regularly visited by a pair of nesting swans…. Not forgetting our flock of rare breed ducks and South American Rheas!
Our breeding philosophy focuses on the foundation of the mares and fillies in its breeding programme. All carefully selected for their superb bloodlines, characterised by Arabian type, quality and movement. The stud focuses first on the desirable qualities which each mare has on offer, whilst considering her pedigree, in order to thoughtfully match her to a stallion which has the potential to produce a breathtaking combination. We believe without a solid broodmare foundation to build upon, no matter the show record or breeding profile of the stallion, the final results will be much more challenging to achieve.
Here at Al Jalyla Stud the passion and dedication we have for the Arabian horse is intertwined in to everyday life. They are and have been for a long time our life consuming passion; the Live, Sleep, Breath syndrome springs to mind.
Visitors are welcome anytime to our family home and stables.
